Daffodil

Daffodil

Hello everyone and welcome back to school from the Daffodil class!!! We had a lovely Summer, and we are delighted to be back in school for another fun year.
We would like to welcome Great to our class this year.
We have had a busy few weeks settling into class. We love coming to school every day to see our friends and to learn new things!
We have been remarkably busy in the Daffodil class since coming back from our summer holidays. We have been learning all about Autumn. We have read lovely Autumn poems, and we love to sing Autumn songs during circle time. We have gone on lots of lovely nature walks.
We have had lots of fun with music, drama, and art class so far! We love sensory stories where we can actively participate and experience a story using all our senses. Our favourite story so far has been ‘Room on the Broom’. We love music and singing along. In art it has been very hands on. We have made lovely leaf print canvases, silhouette handprint posters and some beautiful Halloween crafts to include mobile decorations and papier mache Halloween baskets.
In Maths, we have been working very hard learning about our numbers, patterns, shapes, classifying and sorting, time, and colours. Our colour of the month was Orange, we enjoyed listening to our orange colour song and looking in the orange colour bag daily. We love colour of the month activities.
Cookery has started back again, and we have made some delicious treats with Cathrina!
We are a very active class, and we love P.E. in the hall every Wednesday with Damien from Westmeath Sports. We have also resumed our P.E. class with TUS on a Tuesday morning and we are back swimming too. We have great fun!
We are looking forward to more exciting learning and fun this year. Come back soon for another update from the Daffodils!
Happy Halloween!
