Athletes triumph at Special Olympics Virtual Games!

Covid restrictions have been detrimental to sport over the past year but that has not stopped six of our students overcome the challenges by participating in Special Olympics Virtual Games.

Jesse, Lucy, Seánie, Sean, Fiona & Nathan all took part in the virtual games and results were announced on Friday 26th March. Training began when the students returned to school in February and for four weeks the athletes practised daily in their respective sports. Lucy and Fiona competed in events in Gymnastics and Athletics, Seán, Seánie and Jesse took part in Athletics and Nathan in MATP (Motor Activity Training Programme).

Between them they won three 1st Places, five 2nd Places, two 3rd Places and three 6th Places. The staff and pupils of St. Hilda’s School are very proud of their achievements which will be celebrated in April with a virtual Awards Ceremony. Congratulations everyone!
