Daisies

Daisies

Welcome to the Daisy Class. This term we have been learning all about Space, the different planets and the Chinese New Year. We have been learning all about St. Brigid and we made some lovely St. Brigid’s Day crosses using reeds we picked out in our local community. We have had lot’s of fun making solar systems and dragon’s to decorate our classroom.

We have been learning about shapes and we have been doing lots of shape matching activities. We have also been learning counting songs and we enjoy clapping along to number songs. In the Daisy class we love our daily circle time activities and engaging with all of our songs and objects of reference. We also really enjoy our weekly baking lessons and we have been having great fun helping to measure and mix ingredients. Some of us enjoy getting the ingredients ready and putting them away when we are finished and helping with the washing up.

Last term we celebrated two birthdays and this celebrated one birthday. We enjoyed lots of class parties and we made lovely cards for the Birthday boys! We also celebrated one of our pupil’s successfully completing their Junior Cycle last year. What a great achievement.

We have been practicing our throwing and catching skills in PE and we enjoy going on the swing, the OT ball and going to the playground. We love sensory play and going to the multisensory room to listen to a story , rhyme or some relaxing music.
