As we approach our summer holidays, Tulip class staff, would like to wish their pupils and their families, a summer filled with happiness and fun.
The pupils of the Tulip class have worked extremely hard in the last term, concentrating on the learning outcomes (PLUS) of the Junior Cycle level 1 programme, and finishing off the short course ‘Food, Glorious Food!’. The pupils have worked on the following elements, Language, Numeracy, Personal Care, The Arts, Physical Education and Being Part of the Community. All the pupils completed their short course exceedingly well.
At the end of April, we went on a short boat ride on the River Shannon, with RNLI volunteers, as part of our wellbeing week. The RNLI volunteers allowed us to experience sitting on the actual RNLI lifeboat, and then treated us all to Supermacs!
Tulip class staff and pupils would like to thank the RNLI for all they did for us, we had a wonderful experience and lots and lots of fun and laughter. Our boat captains were exceedingly kind and accommodating to us all onboard the boat.
In May, we had National Bike Week from the 13th-17th. It gave all the pupils a chance to experience bikes and follow an obstacle course. They all had great fun. See the pictures attached.
We went to ‘Turoe Pet Farm,’ Co. Galway, for our school tour on Wednesday the 22nd of May. It was a fantastic day out enjoyed by all. We visited the animals, and fed the, had a lovely lunch there, went on bouncy castles and played in several playgrounds. The pictures attached show the fun we had.
At the end of June, we will have a Wellbeing week. This involves sensory experiences, storytelling, beautiful sunny walks, getting a treat from the ice-cream van, and physical education activities.
Enjoy the latest photos we have put up on our class webpage of our recent learning and experiences.
On a personal note, I would like to say that it was a pleasure to teach, and have all these wonderful children in my class this year.
Happy summer holidays everyone. Stay safe, and do not forget to wear sun-cream!!
See you on August 28th, 2024, for the new academic year.
From all the staff in the Tulip Class.
