Tulips

Tulips

Welcome to the Tulip class.

We have had a wonderful term in the Tulip class. We are all working on our Junior Cert Level 1 in Communication and Language, Mathematics, Being part of the community, Physical Education, Personal care and wellbeing and the Arts.

We have been very busy exploring the themes of Winter and Christmas. We have had some fabulous walks enjoying the Winter sunshine. In Personal care and well-being we learned about personal safety and food and nutrition.

Music makes us all very happy in class and we love listening to music, dancing, and playing percussion instruments. We have enjoyed Music with Niamh and love experimenting with the various instruments. We particularly enjoy the keyboard and the drums. We have worked on some beautiful Winter Art creations in collage using fabric and fibre. We made Christmas decorations, baubles, decorated pine-cones and made snowmen.

We are a very active class and love PE in the hall. We love playing basketball. We also resumed our visits to TUS for activities on a Monday morning. This is a lovely outing for the whole class. We go out to play in the basketball court every day at break or lunch which is fun for everyone. We enjoy cycling and basketball. We had a fantastic term of swimming and have all made progress.

We enjoy baking every Thursday afternoon and thoroughly enjoy measuring and mixing the ingredients. We made chocolate brownies, flapjacks, rice crispy Christmas puddings, jam and coconut buns and lemon drizzle buns.

We are very excited for our upcoming Christmas events. The army band will visit us and Santa will be here too. We are having Christmas dinner as a whole school and will have a visit to the Deane Crowe to see a Christmas panto also. We are all very excited for Christmas and will thoroughly enjoy the festivities.
