Hello everyone!
Greetings to you all as we begin Spring. We have said goodbye to the winter, and we look forward to all the new life spring has to offer us. Wow, Spring has so much to teach us! We have learned all about the new life that surrounds us in Spring and have created some beautiful art pieces to represent this, such as our rice butterflies, or our rainbows. All uploaded on our Seesaw app for you to see.
We were feeling very romantic for Valentine’s Day! All the pupils made their parent’s a heart from home-made dough. They then painted the hearts, not once but twice, to make them look beautiful. The language of Valentine’s Day was explored alongside our visual Arts. The pupils learned Valentine language to create cards for their loved ones too. Have a look at our pictures.
We are now preparing for St. Patrick’s Day, where all children will hear and experience all the language that surrounds St. Patrick’s day. We have created some beautiful St. Patrick Day Art pieces to bring home and share with our families. We will also spend some time exploring Easter language and Numeracy and will do some art to represent Easter. We will continually update our pictures over the next few weeks.
Since our return from Christmas break, we have spent a lot of time working on our Junior Cycle short course,’ Food, Glorious Food’. We have spent a lot of time learning about different foods, and different shops in our local community. We visited the local shops to explore locally produced food, but also to see which foods are sold where? This is all part of the children’s learning objectives for their Junior Cycle short course programme.
We will be exploring our senses over the coming weeks and look forward to this.
